WAVEtek issued patent

I am happy to announce that a recent patent issued to our WAVEtek company is a great enhancement to microwave-based processing technology. In the original patent (2012) for using microwaves to process grease, microwaves travel through waveguides and enter the vessel from above. This results in an open headspace on top of the products. The headspace where product vapors accumulate could present a problem if the vapors are flammable and if arcing occurs. The current patent is for a special window that allows side entry for microwaves near the bottom of the metallic vessel. The key to the invention is a barrier that allows microwaves through with near zero reflected waves while handling pressure, vacuum, and high temperatures. This invention improves safety, making microwave vessels suitable for processing mineral oils and other chemicals with lower flash points. View it here: https://lnkd.in/gydvj3DS
